Miss Rose Devlin hangs up a newly clean christening dress while her cat, Minnou, looks on. The washing machine, drip-dry fabric and tailored look have finally forced the close of the small firm that is almost an institution in New Orleans. Madame Rapho's, for years the place where the fine laces and gloves could be entrusted nowhere else, were laundered is going out of business on October 1.
