1959 Press Photo Passion Play Christ performers Anton Preisinger and Alois Lang

Anton Preisinger, right, 47-year-old Oberammergau, Germany, inn keeper, points with his finger during special committee meeting, Tuesday, at which he was selected to play the part of Christ in the world famed Oberammergau Passion Play. Sitting next to him is Alois Lang, 68, member of the town council whose portrayal of Christ in the 1930 version of the play brought him world-wide fame. Lang also spoke the prologue to the play in 1950.
