The Italian freighter Glove smashed its bow into the Toulouse Street wharf in New Orleans last night after it lost power and collided with a fire boat. Dock board officials said the 8,600-ton vessel, loaded with grain, cut a 40-foot swath through the dock, smashing parked cars and pilings.
