1973 Press Photo H.R. Haldeman, former White House Chief of Staff, ponders

The chairman of the Senate Watergate committee today said H.R. Haldeman's testimony about what he heard on White House recordings is "counterfeit evidence." Sen. Sam J. Ervin, Jr., D-N.C., said Haldeman's testimony would not be admitted in any court of law because the tapes still exist and are the best evidence of what is on them.
