Plans for a walkout by Orleans Parish public school teachers were approved Thursday night at a meeting of an independent group, estimated at more than 200 persons, at the Monteleone Hotel. The walkout, should the state Legislature vote down full implementation of the $48 million pay raise, is scheduled the day after the vote.
