Sprawling buyers' area is situated on West Bank Expressway - Since the opening of Oakwood Shopping Center's completely enclosed, air-conditioned mall in the spring of 1966, its growth has been continuous. Now offering nearly 50 stores, 1968 has brought seven new businesses to the tropical planted mall. These include Dr. B.J. Wood, ophthalmologist; Giles Mateu, photographer; the Oakwood Branch of the Gretna Post Office; International Travel Advisors; Motherhood Maternity Shop' The Florsheim Shoe Shop; and Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio.
