1951 Press Photo Chinese Treated and Returned Cpl Robert Montague to Allies

Korean War, Liberated Prisoners: Released by his Chinese captors and returned to Allied territory by helicopter, Corporal Robert Montague of Mattoon, Illinois, looked at the piece of machine gun bullet that gave him a head would. He was hit when Allied planes strafed a Communist column of which he was a reluctant member. A Chinese doctor treated the wound.
